Ignition key problem

My key no longer automatically goes from start to run anymore.

is this something i can fix(like replace a spring) or do i need to by a whole new key assembly?

Is it locking up and not turning? Have you tried jiggling the steering wheel first?

it's turning fine, it's just not turning back when you release the key.
