  • Tachometer solution?

Hi , this is my first post here. But i am very familiar whit the z31 chassis , I have a 1986 GLL z31 , My problem is that I swapped a vq35de / z33 6s tranny , in my z31 and i am not able to have the tach working in my digital cluster , I already bough the tach adapter from autometer(model 9117) needed to convert the signals of the six coils in something readable for some pre D.I.S ingnition systeme , it seems to works on a aftermarket tach that I got , but its doesnt on the oem tach in the cluster , anyone has any idea why? Is it because of the resistance in the harness for the tach that as to be the same value as the vq35de?Please help me on this one , I would really like that the oem cluster works. thankx!

There is a pick up that sat next to the coil on your car stock. Were is that?

That is what makes the stock tach functional

I hooked up my autometer ricey 5" tach to that so maybe there is a way for you to mod it?

Like mount it next to a coil pack or something, other than that i have no idea

there you go folks , If you ave any question regarding the swap please feel free to ask , keep in mind that initially i was suppose to do a restoration on the car, and got a good deal on a z33 engine/tranny , so decided to do it at the same time.
