  • Just another new guy

    Hi

    I recently got an 86 300ZX Turbo (with an 87 engine/electronics)...

It's sort of rusty, and runs incredibly rich --
but no worries, it's going to live the rest of its life as a full track car. (first stop: GRM Challenge)

I'd post pictures, but I'm almost sure you don't want to see them yet.

Just saying hello -- because I WILL be asking questions later this spring

(I come from a background of Honda's, 240sx, and RX-7's ... so this deal with having 80% of everything custom fabricated is sort of new to me)

There's a lot of nice cars with a lot of work on this forum, and it's great to see people keeping the Z alive.

NICE, another #526 red 86 Turbo. Decent shape, but not as clean as mine.

I see it has the 87+ front and 3rd brake light, hmm....

Is it true the 86's can bolt on the 87-89 headlights with minor modifications unlike 84-85's?

^^^You would need the 87+ bumper and hood too, as the dimensions of the 87+ lights are shorter than the 84-86cars. A-Z Bum has a write up on it at his site, but too lazy to get the actual link.

Seen a 87 Z with 84-86 headlights, just had to grind the hood a little bit.

NOwhere near as clean as yours!

Actually.... I did the front end swap on her.... oh, 2 years ago?
We have a little bit of a history

Didn't cut out the buckets though, as the owner wanted to do some sealed covers down the road...

                              That TBO lip is hot!
