      Huh?

      No.

My point is there is no need to increase bore or stroke to make gobs of power on the VG

Yea, i know it really isn't needed, but it would be much easier to make higher numbers. Also it would aid in spool up. I bored mine a hell of a lot more than i have ever seen on a vg30, but i wouldn't even think of stroking it because of rpm limits. I know there is more stuff to stroking but i am ignorant of those things.

here's a crate engine for you, buy one of these:

You could build a better 3.4liter yourself. ie better flowing heads, forged internals, knifecut crank counterweights, and a high flow oil pump for far less money than they are asking.
they charge so much because Escort is JDM y0

but yeah, I would rather build a VG34 myself anyway

That's the thing though... unless you're going for some extremely high numbers for racing, most people aren't going to need it. The majority of the people modding a Z31 will likely be driving it on the street and, even though low end power is good for the street, the VG30 is able to provide plenty.

              hm

So you think its alot easier and cheaper to build my own motor up to like Escort Crate motors?

it's as cheap as buying a VG33 block (bored out to 93mm), some Q45 size forged pistons and some VG30DE rods. You now have a 3.4 liter bottom end that will easily handle well over 500 horsepower

what kind of power are you trying to make anyway? if you aren't even shooting for 500+ horsepower completely streetable there's no need to start with anything above a VG30, just look at the torque numbers the guys here are putting out with their sub 500hp setups

well before you go off on increasing your displacement, what else are you planning to use to get there?

700hp huh? Are you going to try to make that streetable? You are going to need traction control if you are. Ok back to the engine. If you want a vg34, I suggest getting the vg33 block bored to 93mm, get custom pistons made, you probably will need to anyways, and se eagle rods. You probably could use the vg30de rods, but they are very heavy. Especialy compared to eagle rods. Get some kings bearings, and then the nismo oil gears. Also i would suggest getting the block O-ringed and use a copper head gasket. Unless you want to test the durability of the Victor Rienz head gasket, as they have not been tested in very high boost situation.

After all that you still need to build some heads and get a big turbo. And a turbo supporting 700bhp probably won't fit in the stock location, so now you are talking about custom manifolds or a relocation pipe.

Also i am curious to what you are planning for efi control.

I talked to a guy about making a custom tub exhaust mani and he said he'll charge about 1200 i dont know if thats good or bad. and I also have one more ?. will a 87-88 Hatch fit on a 85.

                                I like carbon fiber too!!

                                This is my greatest accomplishment.

Not really, but hey, its there.
