Oh that's gonna be fun, the Nissan dealership here are the biggest bunch of derelicts it's beyond laughable lol I can pull it it from my NA for now, as I shortened that car by a few feet a couple of months ago. I'm guessing that with the oil filter removed, that threaded tube should just screw out also?

I saw on zcar someone suggested a method in removing the threaded tube from the relocation block. It was in relation to a 240Z so I'm not 100% sure if it will work for us but might be worth a try.

He recommended to drill a small hole through both sides of the threaded tube just big enough to slide a narrow screw driver through to use as a t-bar (similar to the spark plug tool) and then use that to slowly unscrew the threaded tube. The downside being that the threaded tube mighn't be useable again on the relocation block, but it can be cut shorter when just using the oil filter because it doesn't need to be as long.

I'm sure the oil cooler kit that Dan @ TSS sells doesn't require that relocation block so it probably isn't such a big deal if it cant be reused with the block again. I'm not sure how to go about removing the oil lines from the block itself though, I imagine it would be quite difficult to remove the block with them lines still intact. Hacksaw? lol

ok well its not very hard, all you need to do is find 2 nuts that fit onto the threaded tube, then tighthen them both on then use the second nut to twist it the opposite way!

the tube came flying off and i installed it onto my turbo engine and my adapter for the oil cooelr fits perfect!

as soon as i start installintg the oil cooler kit i wil ltry to take some pictures but my camera sucks!

Ah yeah, or that way! Stud removal procedure, good thinking...

How'd you get the block itself off? Did u remove the lines from the block first? If so how did u go about doing that? I haven't had a good look at it yet myself.

1ST when i did this the engine was out
2ND when i bought the motor the oil lines had been cut
3RD the oil adapter only was held on by 2 bolts!

Ah I see, with the block unbolted tho how does it come out then? Wouldn't it have be screwed out because of the thread? I'm just trying to picture how to go about removing it with the oil lines still intact, either that or i'm going to bust out the hacksaw lol

I believe the threaded tube is double tapered, assuming you can order one just about anywhere, it should be a standard part....

if it's really a problem get some vice grips on it and give 'er 'ell
