84 NA with intake and exhaust:

      140mph

84 NA 2 Turbo with lots of stuff:

Analog speedometer needle was pointing almost straight down. Nobody else around to endanger, but that does not make it a smart thing to do by any means.

Been there somewhere too, About 1200 rpm's from a flashing shiftlight (7200rpm) and still pulling pretty hard..
Didn't feel like going all the way because of bad traction and a turbo that's probably very hot  Melting pistons is baad

                  3rd is a 1.00:1 in the auto and with a n/a final gear set of 3.7 at 3900rpm you'd be doing 133.15mph not 140.

It was 138mph @ 6904rpm. I know the tack is right because the Jim Wolf conputer cuts fuel at 7000rpm.

I know this is an old thread but I'm too swamped with school now to keep up regularily... so here goes

                      Model:Nissan 300ZX N/A
                      Year:1986
                      Modifactions:NONE
                      Transmission type: 5sp FS5W71C
                      Passengers:2
                      Topspeed:115
I could have kept going, the engine really started pulling nicely after 100mph. But I could feel my rear end starting to catch air...and the normal gradual bumps that would otherwise not be noticeable at HWY speeds became like launching ramps. I kept it up for 1 hr though, through San Ardo, CA...hehe no cops. This is all completely fictional of course....I dont even own a Z...San Ardo What?
