Yeah since i have a 5 speed and 300zx ecu and maf im sure ill be able to go alot higher.

The revlimit on the maxima ecu is very low.

And since i have alot of upgrades on this car im sure i will have fun with it.

      Suspension tech springs 1.5" Drop
      Koni adjustable struts
      Addco rear swaybar
      Front strutbar
      Walbro 255 pump
      240sx 60MM tb
      300zx ecu
      300zx maf
      300zx tt Fuel filter
      Cold air intake
      Gutted upper intake

Hey that's alot of mods for me!

I cant belive all the time i have put into this car swapping in a engine without knowing any thing about cars and here 2 months later i feel like i know alot more.

this morning i got the car moving now i just have to figure out this winding noise i have comming from the PS pump ...

300zxt i was just looking at the engine bay pictures of you're car and damn i love the look of it.

I was looking at the picture of this.

And saw the fpr and how you had the line going into the intake manifold...

        Is that correct ?

Because if so i think i might have put my vaccum hoses on wrong... OOPS

Thanks! It will look much nicer when I've finished, those pictures just dont do it justice! The top of the plenum is actually a mirror finish and I've got sexy new blue anodized cam gears to go on yet which matches the plugs in the top of the plenum.

The reason my vacuum line is routed that way is because I bypassed the FPR control solenoid as you don't really need it. All it does is open/closes the vacuum line running from the plenum to the FPR and it's "supposed" to help with cold starts but I didn't notice any change after removing it and cold starts are still fine.

People complain about the vacuum hoses on the VG30, there's bugger all hoses after you've removed all the emissions bs and bypassed a few things! On an NA there really is hardly any, because half of the current hoses are for the BOV and boost gauge.

p.s I know all about the learning curve, this is my first time I've worked my Z aswell!

So, you hit 150 mph in an Automatic NA? I'm not saying you didn't, but that has to be some sort of record. I just want to know how long it took you and where in the world you were able to accomplish that feat.

That's nothing... The aspiration of a car doesn't have alot to do with overall top speed, given enough road of course. It was on a very long stretch of highway and it took a while to get up there, give or take 10km or so to account for speedo vs actual speed discrepancy. I had the needle bouncing off the pin at 230kmph/145mph and I held it down for a good 30 seconds after that and it was still pulling considerably so 240kmph is a guesstimate but it wouldn't of been far off.

Keep in mind that there are differences between the Z31's here in Australia and the USDM Z31 and the automatic transmission in it is far from stock.

137, hit fuel cut and it felt like someone hit the parking brake... so i disabled it. but i never went past 120 after that.

136 very quickly, i really didn't want to hit fuel cut at that speed.

The tank was empty, and there is a nail in my front driver tire

Terrible idea putting those wheels on...

I think I hit about 160mph inside of 20 seconds in mine and then shut it down because i realized that i was endagering myself and others around me. very stupid and I will never do that again unless on a closed track.

mods? lots of mods. 85 turbo.

and it said 160+ on the digi dash that doesnt mean I was actually doing 160. that and at that speed with where I was I didnt take my eyes off the road too much.
