  • Powdercoated valve covers . . . updated

    Came in today via EllisAutoWorkZ.

They look HOT! And I hope they help distract the attention away from the rest of the scratched and faded engine bay.

These cost me $120, not including the cost of the powder. I D-Bo'd the powder from Kyle because he had a whole bunch extra after having the VH45DE valve covers powdercoated.

The shop that did these typically does not deal with automobile parts, they lean more to commerical and factory equipment. So, for basic colors like black, white, and red, they can spot you the extra powder remaining from a huge order and just charge processing fees.

Those look really nice! Hopefully it will be durable enough for you.

I just semi-polished my valve cover. It looks kinda crappy, but I don't have to worry about scratches so much.

Are Z31 valve covers too thin for this, because L-series guys do it all the time?

How difficult is it to change the plugs with that pathy intake?

I've changed plugs on a pathfinder and can tell you it's tougher than my z31...

That doesn't really answer your question though...

I just got some valve covers sandblasted, and I'm debating weather to get them powdercoated, or just simply paint them.
It may not be a Z, but it's still got a turbo...
