  • Has anyone tried out 19 wheels? Seriously

I'm curious to what a 19" staggered set of wheels would look like. To me, the 18" with a deep dish of 2" or more look too small compared to the rest of the car. Optical illusion, maybe, but anyone try 19's or have a pic?

they look like BMW M3 mirrors. Someone over there must make them for the z31, I've seen a few with that setup.

i'd be willing to bet you can use 240sx mirrors on a z31. i just need to take some mesurments. if i could find one around here in a junkyard.

Yes you can...I've already slapped one on a Z31 at the JY about 9 mo ago.
I promised to take pictures but I couldnt sneak a camera in after that.

Well it's not plug and play. You will have to move one of the bolt holes on the 240sx mirror so it will line up with the Z31...(if memory serves).... but the lines and angles are very close to the same, and the little adjustment knob on the SX mirror fits through perfectly...so you'd just need to poke a hole in the vinyl trim so it can pop through. Also, the base of the SX mirror completely covers the Z stainless steel window trim... I wouldnt mind that though.
They also have a electronic SX mirror. I think that would be awesome to use. The sockets dont match up with the Z31 but if someone could discover which wires do what, then I can imagine just stripping them and soldering it up to the Z31 relay. The electronic mirrors seemed to weigh a little more(?) than the Z31's...but the regular non-electronic SX mirror are Super Super light and they both look AWESOME on a Z.

19"+ make the car look too cartoonish. The largest I'd go is 18s.

Little more lowering and it should look better.

agreed. Not bad looking at all though, they don't look all that different from 18's, especially with a deep lip like that.
