Ok last time out drag racing I had a 1.8 & 1.9 sec. 60' launching at about 5,000 rpms with no wheel spin. Yes it did feel awesome. After reading about stub axles breaking I have to ask. Are they difficult to replace? Do you buy them new from the dealer or somewhere else? I don't drage race often but I do go from time to time.

I want a driveshaft like that for a 86 2+2 with a t-5. Do you have part#s and specks? What company made it

Little bit off topic (but in relevance to your grenading driveshafts/halfshafts)... as an FYI to anyone wanting the ultimate Nissan-friendly solution for a drag-race rear-end...

Probably one of the strongest commonly available axles I can think of is the venerable Nissan H233B... found in the rear of the 4x4 Pathfinder/Hardbody. Its about 9.2"... even BIGGER than the Ford 9". Cheap and easy to find. The Pathfinder specific axle is set up for use with a 5-link rear susp. right out of the box... can even get it with disk brakes. Has lots of aftermarket support (for being a Nissan axle).... gear ratios from 3.3xx all the way to 5.11x... LSD options and lockers to boot. Its also incredibly easy to service like the Ford axle... with a drop-out 3rd member center section. From the pictures posted, I might even believe it has the same pinion bolt pattern as the R200 (R200 is used for the front driveline on 4x4 models).

How strong is it, really? Those of you who know me (ask Jason), know that I have probably one of the fastest Pathfinders on the planet. 14 psi of persuasion from an eaton blower, rommulator, open headers, etc etc.... results in the better part of 380 peak ft lbs on the output side of the transmission. Remember it's a 4x4... meaning I have a 2.1:1 reduction transfer case to multiply torque with... thats around 800 ft lbs to the rear axle in low-range!!! Combine this with my factory rear end ratio of 4.625:1... well, you can see how strong this axle is. Just thought I would put the information out for you guys.

Ok, heres the deal with that. Its on a camcorder, I not a computer geek (if I was my laptop would be working to start my damn car!) I dont know how to put it on the computer. but... there is no video of the boost guage saying 20psi when I launch. its just video of the outside of the car.

However. I had my boost controller set at 20psi when I hit the two step you can see the waste gate open up due to the dump tube coming out the driver fender. I launch, and somtimes spin the slicks(probably didnt warm them up enough) and most of the time hook, HARD! 1.6 60' This is why out of everything I read, I feel that I'm pressing my luck extreemly hard! once I get this thing going again I fear its just going to go down again until I can get stubs, clutch and a drive shaft. if its not one thing its another.

Roastin 300 I can show you the video if you want to hook up somtime and just shoot the shit in Denver. Ive got the video of when I went racing crotch rockets also.

I don't see any problems with launching at 20psi. I've been launching at 12-15psi all summer, 1.8s 60 foot on unprepped drag-strip. Welded diff, 4puck clutch, and t5-tranny!

Oh, I didn't even know you had a 2step launch controller in your car. I'd think 1.8's would be very easy for you then. I launch at 0PSI :-(

I run 18 lbs of boost but like Jason I launch at 0lbs. I have run 1.8-1.9 sec. 60' times with no drag radials. Just my track tires. I dump it at around 5500 rpms. Hooks hard & car lifts/lurches forward. Just check out my video (wicked Z31 video elsewhere on this forum & on http://www.youtube.com as well) & you will see at least 4 drag launches from me.

Nothing has broken yet. Am I lucky or is the driveline strong in an unrusted form?
