  • victoria british outer boots

I have the CV boot kits for my outers but I'm not quite sure how they are supposed to work? Half the of the boot is metal and doesn't exactly conform to the hub part. Strange, never seen a boot like this.

I'm pretty sure that's in inner boot. I remember having to hacksaw the old one off and then rebend the metal of the new on over the edge. I'm not sure, but I think that's an inner. Either way you should probably replace both while the axles are out.

^Yep, those are inners. Hacksaw the old one off, and beat the lip of your new boot over. You'll see pretty quickly how it installs when you get under the car. I used some RTV sealant around the lip after getting it bent over to help keep dirt out. You will see why when you get to the grease on the inside. It will probably look like melted Carmel.

The FSM has info on replacing these as well. Its not very hard but will take a little time once you get the shafts out.

2nd doing both inners and outers while you have it off.

yes, i have my axles all out and what not, had both boot sets but apparently I put the 'outer' boots on the inside and they fit quite perfectly. Didn't have to hacksaw anything to get the old ones off either. Maybe I should set these back for another set of outers eh?
