  • Rear Differential Companion Flange

    If Im doing an automatic to manual swap, do I need to change out the rear diff. companion flange to accommodate for the new driveshaft? If so, can someone point it out to me in this picture (which number part)? Im not quite sure what Im looking for.

    The companion Flange is # 38210

    The 84-86 models have a companion Flange slightly offset bolt pattern
    The 87-89 models have a companion Flange with a equal bolt pattern

    So in order to determine if you need a New companion flange we need to know;
    What transmission are you swapping in?
    What year is your car?

      Im swapping a FS5R90A (86T) into an 85NA.

      EDIT:

      Will I have to change the half shaft and driveshaft also? I am almost positive I have to change the driveshaft, but how about the half shaft?

        Halfshafts have nothing to do with swapping trannys
        The companion Flange you currently have on your diff is fine
