  • oil seal replacement

I borrowed a set of seal drivers, I'm redoing the transmission and differential seals. What methods are recommended to get the seals out? They're more stubborn than I anticipated.

A thin flat tip screwdriver, hammer and some patience. Be a bit careful not to scar the outer housing. Don't get aggressive, take your time.

Ive tried the pullers...not impressed. Getting the new seals in...just be careful and take your time. Use some Assembly lube, wont hurt and definitely helps.

The differential seal can be a bit of a pain. Like I said, small flat tip screwdriver, move it around a bit and pry up once you have a good bite. Reposition and do it again.

Don't get frustrated, or anxious, just keep working it.
