  • Ring and pinion sizes

A friend of mine drives a Superformance super seven. The differential we believe is a nissan truck unit. The rear end is a straight axel. We opened a R200 diff out of an 84 Z. The ring measured 7 1/2" his measures 7". Everything else looks similar. Anyone have any idea as to what Nissan he needs to look for?
What he wants to do is change the final drive to 411.

It is not recommended to confirm proper installation by driving into walls or other barriers as this could cause personal injury or damage to the vehicle.

7" comes out to ~178mm, so if it's a nissan diff then it has to be a R180.

You can get nissan open R180's from early Z cars, and some LSD's from subarus such as the WRX STi. I remember there being a list of ring and pinion sets for the R180 somewhere I was looking at a couple years ago, perhaps it was on hybridz.org
