Most of the engine shops can get "universal" plates that they can machine for custom installs.

      adaptor plate

I am going to build one for my 88 turbo if I can't buy one. I will be installing a 2004R (grand national trans) with a 3500 stall/lockup converter and trans brake.

The only advantage I see here is for drag racing. And I would think a powerglide would be a better choice for that.

Also you might contact advanced adapters.

Lots of shops fab that kind of stuff for the right price. Call around.

3500rpm stall is probably going to be pretty annoying to drive on the street...

It is for drag racing and hiway driving. You will not have 3500 stall untill full throttel and the converter locks in every gear, it is like having 8 gears

like having 8 gears? how is that?

you mean it will be soft and act like an unlockable torque converter normally til you boot it?

I've shown a lot of that stuff to a friend that builds trannies. He thinks most of the mods are not that reliable. Building it properly can increase the capacity to well beyond 400.

Most likely the levelten stuff that's been on z31.com for a while. I added it with the KEAS stuff here:

Specifically that the gains are from increased line pressure and not by increasing the holding capacity of the packs themselves. Line pressure is often part of the equation as you cant increase surface area or CF on every component. He hinted at removing a few marcel plates and replacing them with friction disks and/or flat steel plates.

I'm not versed well enough in auto tranny construction to judge this. But I have seen this friend do a LOT of high capacity units with great success and trust his opinion.
