Agreed on the Redline... it's good stuff.

And good for you. Most people don't know you should in fact never use GL5 in one of these nissan transmissions. It's apparently a known issue it causes some of the blocker rings to wear much faster for some reason.

I'm sure I saw gl4 stuff at ct and napa... and I'm equally sure I can find a redline dealer around here (toronto)

Post up after you get it in. If you are like most of us running Redline in the trans you will notice a difference in how she shifts.

For me- Redline and a B&M = butter....sweetness baby. Worth every penny.
Just stand back and throw money.
              Performance costs money.
              Reliable performance costs more.

i always run a cheap 80w-90 it says GL-5 GL-4 and GL-3. It says it will satisfy all those requirements. Is this a bad thing? should i get something more specific? i ran this in my N/A trans for 2 years until i shredded 2nd gear. now i have a 87-89T trans. Does it use any different fluid than the N/A trans cus im using that cheap universal shit. Its a little rough going into 2nd. Wonder if some redline would smooth that out? not sure where to get it. The only redline i have seen is at a dirt bike shop and it was 75W-90

Just buy the redline and put it in for once. Don't believe the hype, try it for yourself and then you tell us if it's worth $8 per bottle.

and I would just not use anything labeled GL-5

finally got the redlineMT90 in,i wish it was 8$/bottle, more like 16$ each here in canada!
anyways, it isnt noticable except for i had a slight grind going into second and it seem to have disapeared!
also the GL5 smells really sweet compared to the nasty ass GL4!
                    either way money well spent!
thanks for all the info guys!
