  • 30A in a 2+2? Who's done it? anybody?

I'm planning to use the 87+ 5sp in my 87 2+2. I assume that the driveshaft on my auto isn't going to work with the 5sp, correct?

Has anybody done this before? the driveshaft part seams to be a pain in my ass. I've determined by looking at the FSM that the shaft needs to be 865mm spider to spider to make this work, agree?

The closest driveshaft shop quoted $140-165 to re-tube and re-ballance it.

    Anybody have a better idea?

Correct. Your automatic driveshaft is not compatible. Jason has swapped the FS5R30A in his 2+2. I'm sure there are a few others who have done it as well.

You could get turbo 5 speed 2+2's in canada.
Call some canadian wrecking yards and try and find one to drop in. don't bother in southern ontario. i have looked for z's everywhere

canada didn't get many turbos, and almost all of them were auto... of the ones that were 5-speed the vast majority were the early years with the T5
