  • Z32 MAF Offset in Nistune adr file.

I've been seeing maf voltages up around 5-5.5v and know I'm not moving that much air. So after some discussion and digging around the nistune forum I found reference to a different offset for Z32 N62 maf's.

Basically, I'm saying if you are using a Z31 ecu and a Z32 maf with the three resistors removed from the check circuit, you need to open your address file in notepad and change the "LEGACY_AFM_OFFSET=1500" to "0" or remove this entry entirely. I cannot say if this applies to any other meters at this time.

This is only a software concern for calculations in the nistune software. It has no other implication for other tuning methods.

you must have read my mind. i made the same assumption like 2 days ago and posted a question on the nistune forum.. matt replyed and confirmed that with the 3 resistors removed, "LEGACY_AFM_OFFSET" should be changed from 1500 to 0.

YOU are going to critique my tune. You think so huh?

Oh crap, I'm going to get embarrassed now. I think this may have a lot to do with why what things "should" be and what things "are" have not been lining up. Once I really start to get a grasp of things I'll post everything for public ridicule. I cerainly will appreciate the help of more experieced users.

Well as I am starting to learn more about what things do, I have made some huge improvements. Car runs a LOT better but still has bumps and holes in power delivery. Today I did some more logging.

My max TP was in the 95 column with the following values:
          10psi 60-1/stage3 no IC
          RPM - 4975
TP - 23612 (not sure how to convert that down to compare to the scale)
MAF - 4.16 (z32 maf with offset corrected)
          AFR - 11.69
          Timing - 25

This is on 91 octane gas but most of the work was done using 87 so I know I need to start from the begining and alter a good deal of it. Also with having no IC the 11.69 is probably a bit leaner than I should be using. But considering it is not pinging one bit anymore, I am pretty happy with it.

DOH! Something so simple yet I never thought of it. Thanks Bernard.
