  • help getting the max out of my setup

    ok I need to know what I can excpect to get out of my set up. z32 mas, 420cc injectors, walbro pump, and cartech regualtor. I'm asking because there is a guy I want to beat I'm not fully tuned and I can't start tuning until I get my new tranny installed. The guy I might race is runing a low 12-high 11. Is there any special things I can do to get more out of my setup. I'm going to need every last bit.

    Of course this a L28et in the s130

    is that cartech regulator a FMU? You probably won't want to use that with bigger injectors anyway...

    Good tuning. The rest of that setup is good for 400whp if not more with the right turbocharger, and that will get you into the 11's if you can drive it and don't just break the damn thing every time you go to the track like I seem to be doing. What turbo are you running again?

      my turbo is a t3/t4e .57 trim .63a/r with a stage 3 turbine. I'm runing a stock cam out of a older non turbo its just a little better then the stocker. I think driving is going to be an issue. I've got summer tires 195 70 14 and an open diff ops:

        the cartech is an older regulator like the aeromotive ones

            a 95 transam lt4 conversion and a whole lot of mods. When I get home I'll upload his list of mods. I'm sneaky I found out about his setup. lol :twisted:

              Well damn, sorry to burst your bubble but even if you're making the power you'll never keep up without more tire. Even with really sticky compound and an LSD in the car, a tire that narrow can't grab very much road.

                  Why doesn't your '81 Turbo have 15" Snowflakes?

                  BFG makes a drag radial in 215/60/14 which would be perfect for 14x6 rims.

                  Do you have iron crosses, six spokes, or something else?

                    I've got six spokes and my Z is na to turbo I would have had 15inch rims but saidly the wrecked parts car had two broken rims
                    Looks like I"ll be searching for rims and tires.

                      Are $550 15x7 Konig Rewinds out of your grasp?

                      I would personally go with these on the 6 spokes if I were you:

                          I once found a set of panasports in 15x7 for the 1st gen Z offset. $400... nice shape. Should have bought them then. The rewinds are nice, stylish, but a tad heavier.

                          DR's will help out a lot too. What trans are you running?
