  • thanks jason

you don't know it but you just solved about 95% of the problems i had with the way my car was running. i had nothing but prolems with maf turbulance screwing with everything. then i saw this pic of your intake.

so i ditched my whole retarded intake setup and bought a $20.00 filter that bolts right on to the maf.

now all is happy with unicorns and fluffy kittens and shit. thanks

    boost. does a body good!

So are you saying that it's advantageous to avoid piping before the MAF?

I have a fairly long rubber elbow between the MAF and airfiler on my car so that I can pull cold air from in front of the radiator and still keep the MAF in the engine bay.

I do notice that I have some strange resonance coming from the intake when I lift off the gas.

You make me feel better knowing my engine bay will be similar to yours in that its red with my car being black exterrior.

          Hey... no problem... I guess?

          Here's a better picture:

The only problem I have with the filter there is that the incoming air from my cutout headlight deal blows right on it when you're moving at any respectable speed. So if I clutch in and let the revs fall to idle on the highway it will bounce around from 300-1200rpm and eventually stall because of the air turbulance. Appears only at higher speed and low rpm, and AFR bounces all over. Does not appear to be an issue when driving normally or in boost, probably because the air velocity through the maf is so much higher.

You mean mine? I just kind of figured the only color that went good with red was red.
