  • Final official word on M-B 420 injecters

We sent a set of the be cleaned, tested and balanced, new filters and pintle caps. For $15 each, It`s a good deal (see http://www.witchhunterperformance.com) anyways, on their test results sheet, which they test the injectors at a normal, 43.5 psi, they were an average 488cc. so there you have it.

and i recommend whp.com. @ 1 week turnaround, before and after print out for tests performed, good job overall

Good to know, 480cc is a good amount of fuel. I've seen flow results saying 440cc also though so it's hard to pin down.

In case you missed it... I offer fuel injector cleaning service through Z31Parts.com for $10.50 per injector, including pre-post flow data sheets. Replacement screens, pintle caps and lower intake seals are provided. That's the same service for 2/3 the price you paid :-/

Typical turnaround is 3-7 days, but can sometimes be longer. If you need any more done...

but at what fuel pressure? if jason got 480-ish at 43psi and you are running 37psi there will be >30cc difference

I have had several M-B sets sent to witchhunter to be cleaned and flow tested and they all flowed more than 420. It also depnds at what pressure they test at as well. I've got one set left and I'm gonna give Jason a try, gotta support those that support us.

                  Yes they are low imp.

I've had a set of Borg Warner retail branded injectors for the MB tested and they were 480cc at 43psi. And within 2 or 3 cc of each other in a 60 second test.

I would have used ones tested and/or rebuilt before using them. But they units themselves look like decent parts.

Take into account that most testsing equipment uses heptane instead of gasoline. It would have a slightly different flow rate than with regular gasoline...

                          water+diesel= very bad

were you being sarcastic? i doubt they would use water , if you get water inside a diesel fuel system , the engine wont run whatsoever(you know .. how diesel systems dont use spark, just compresion to ignite , i dont think water helps the cause one bit).

From what you said, it would seem that water would help. Diesel uses compression; having water in a hole increases compression... heh heh heh.
