I put REV valves in my heads. 1mm over on intake, 2mm over on exhaust.

REV valves are as good as Ferrea. Similar in price. We went with 2mm over on exhaust as we couldn't get airflow ratio we were looking for any other way.

$16.50 seems like a pretty decent price for over-sized valves. I paid $13.35 for my valves when I had the heads rebuilt and they were stock size with a 3 angle grind.

This whole valve sizing matter is definitely something I am going to keep in mind when I build this spare engine I have now.
Just stand back and throw money.
        Performance costs money.
        Reliable performance costs more.

a better discussion is about an oversized wallet ....

I'd like a chart showing how much money was spent in upgrades to achieve what power level from the high-hp members.... fixing rust or replacing blown engines wouldn't count... just the basic figures above and beyond what stock does

this thread has lots of silly fat-wallet ideas in it, the reason ford/chevery have aftermarket heads is they deliberately undersize everything for good low end torque to go with their low rev limits, aftermarket like edelbrock can make new castings with larger everything

does anyone want to make us some better heads? raise your hand

No, the reason ford and chevy have so many aftermarket heads is because most of the buildups are NA. They can't make any HP with the stock heads because of the lousy airflow. And yes, you can make good torque with high flowing heads. Also, everyone and their brother run these small block engines, so there is a sizable market for them.

Well this thread is turning silly. I'm thinking of spliting the crank yanker discussion into another topic to leave on its lonesome...

JK: Did you go 2M over on exhaust while using a stock valve seat insert? I would like to see some pictures and hear some information on your head work :-)

Jason, I'm hoping the crank yanker discussion is over. The valve seat on the exhaust is not stock. Yes I will get you some pics and numbers. Sorry for the delay but it will take a couple days for me to get it done.
