My thoughts eactly. That motor could be every bit as potent as a vg30det if built, only a lot more compact. Probably wouldn't even cost too much considering you can use parts from z31's and z32's.

Why swap a vq when you can get a VH? :P
I guess the point would be that it would be unique, plus could be done with a combo of z32 and z31 parts and it is a lot more compact...not to mention MUCH more stout than a vq...it would make a great budget swap.
Very interesting that the VG30ET turbo manifold bolts up to the VE30DE, that could make a very cool setup...

Along with VEs come VTCs.. and they suck. Biggest problem with those engines. But if anyone wants one of these engines.. ive got one sitting in my warehouse.
Oh yeah...nismogab, is your vq getting fully built? Internals? Otherwise (other than to be unique) I would think the swap would be kinda pointless :?:
exactly , you will have to sleeve the block to make some real power above already changing the pistons and rods ... machining the block itself is enough to shy me away from that engine ..... the only good thing about a vq is displacement and probably a better design on the ports becase of the fact that its a newer engine..
