Now when you decide to make it just make sure you do it equal length. Just take the time and make them right, that way you have somthing nobody else here has, a front mounted turbo with TRUE equal length manifolds!

Yep, That is the plan. I'm just going to tack it together and have the best
welder I know weld it up for me. I will keep a detailed record (with Pics)
so some one else can do them selves.

Steve Z31 should make these up for Z31 Parts to sell.

2nd the equal length idea...that kind of setup could be the stuff of magazine articles...oops...did I actually say that?

Best of luck on this Gary. I can hardly wait to see this unfold.
Just stand back and throw money.
          Performance costs money.
          Reliable performance costs more.

Just to be curious about how much did it cost for the turbo manifolds?

I haven't made them yet. My guest the pro-welding will cost as much as the tubing.

Nice..........I'll probably go with a front mounted turbo header or a twin turbo setup.

I bet the tubing is cheaper than the welding. I bet you pay anywhere from 300-500 just to get them tig welded by somone who knows what they are doing.

Satan is correct... make them equal length. Not only is it better for performance, but there is a less likely chance of them cracking. If they are equal length, when they expand when heated they will do so at a more even rate from runner to runner. Don't ask me how I know this.

If he does all the mock-up and fitment, welding should take 2-4 hours dependiing on a number of things...

remember that after the welding is complete, the piece will warp slightly, so leave a little "give" room when designing them.

Well I can't wait to see what you come up with Gary. I bought a set of the flanges & haven't decided what to do with them yet. I'm in no rush for sure.

You are going to have to share with me what you are going to do about smog.
You live 1.5hrs away from me in San Fran, so we have the same smog obligations and
this is something that makes me sweat at night for what I have planned.

The #1 issue I think of right away when looking at your set up is visual expection.
                          You will fail that miserably.
The moment the open your hood they will send you out the door with an order to appear at a
local police station in a few weeks to verify that you have reverted everything to stock.
This is why I say this:
No where on those manifolds does it have a "50 state legal" smog stamp.
The turbo location just screams "I'm an illegal custom setup".

I considered finding a "Hot Shop" (ie corrupt smog station) and just giving them the usual $200 to pass me.
You dont even need to bring your Z for that, just walk in with your money and info. But it's like the moment I found one
they would get shut down by the state. And even if I did pass that way, it still wouldnt gaurd me against being stopped
and having them open my hood.

                          Please share your thoughts.
