  • Where can I buy metal head-gaskets online?

I have to change my head-gaskets and have been searching for hks metal gaskets. Can't find them anywhere?
Also been looking for other brands of metal gaskets, but none found for the z31.
On top of that little problem, I'm in a hurry too. Have to have the car running on a drag-race in 14 days!

ARP head bolts. Is there a special kit for our cars or do i have to order buy the dimensions of the bolts?

So, as usual, my question is what to buy and from who?
for a -85 turbo engine. 8.2 comp and about 20-25psi of boost

    Search isn't broken or anything.
Type in Metal Head Gaskets and read through the 23 threads found....the answers are there.
Type in ARP Hardware..13 threads will lead you to a listing of the part numbers.
*Self help is the best help. 14 days worth of time....search takes less time than what it takes to explain/write that you needd to search the site.
When one source or one opinion isn't enough, reference that info with a link and get alot further with helpful responses as you show that you can and do helpy selfy.

PS!(20-25psi?....I think you might need to slow down and double check yourself some....be safe, and not sorry)
The new Z31 Turbo FAQ is now required reading; it contains most of not all you need to know about power modifications to your Turbo Z31:

    http://www.redz31.com/turbofaq/turbo.faq.htm

From now on, if posts are made in ANY forum categories in which the person is asking questions that are blatantly answered in the turbo faq, your post will be deleted.

That being said, I have a lot of work into the FAQ but I recognize nothing is ever as good as it can become. I always appreciate ideas on corrections or additions.

First of all, Why is it soo hard to answer a question twice?

I've searched, and in the thread about VR gaskets there's info about the gasket and a part number for a full engine gasket set.
I'm looking for a place to buy gaskets, and if possible, only the head gaskets. I'm in Europe, so it has to be Online-store that wants to ship overseas... Since kennedy has been waiting 4months, I don't want to buy anything from the guy he's been talking to. I've got 14 days!

I have not searched about the ARP's because I realized while I was writing about HG that now might be the time to change the bolts too. Since some of u guys knows alot about these engines, I hoped that somebody could give me a simple yes or no, while answering about HG...

Why wouldn't I be able to boost 20psi?

So, your FAQ told me that HKS and similar is not avalible and arp doesn't make a kit. Thats great! Then I guess I want a set of Victor Reinz, but who wants to sell them and ship them to me? and is it possible to buy only HG or do i have to order a full set?

Edit: Probably im a retard, but last time i searched for Metal Head Gaskets, i found 3 threads, this morning 3 threads. now over 20 threads... Have to be wrong spelling or something... Now I'll read them

The HKS and Greddy metal head gaskets are long gone. If you can find a set used I would be very surprised. A friend of mine has a used set he won't let go for under $600.

OEM gaskets will probably be the only ones you can get in a timely fashion. 14 days is really pushing it. If I had a pair to sell you I would. I can order you a full VR non-w set with my discount through ($150 or so), but who even knows if NAPA would have it in stock that soon.

This info is right in the new turbo FAQ:

        AM5-100-1LB - Short Stud (18 needed) - $6.43 each = $115.74
        AM5-900-1B - Long Stud (8 needed) - $7.56 each = $60.48
        AMW-750N - washer (26 needed) - $.92 each = $23.92
        AMN-12-1 - nut (26 needed) - $4.15 Each = $107.90

        Total cost = $308.04

Not even close to worth it in my opinion. Stock head bolts have worked perfectly for me and everyone I have heard from, and studs would make it very hard to remove the heads with the engine in the car.

As long as you want it fast, I see OEM head gaskets in your future. They have been used on lots of engines making 500+hp with 20-25PSI boost.

They may also go by the Beck-Arnley name over there, I really have no idea. Here in the US, they are all devisions of the Dana corporation and brand their products accordingly. I know things like the valve seals come with "made in Japan" stamped on the bags, but the head gaskets are made to victor specs.
