  • COILOVERS now being produced for Z31! I need your help.

    That's right. Finally.

These will not be some weld together "choose your own adventure" coilovers They will be completely new with spindles.

In order to fit on all years, models of Z31, they will be based on the 84-85 spindles. Keep in mind you will have camber plates, so kouki owners should just have more negative camber availible to them.

    HERE IS WHAT I NEED.

INFO: Amount of camber when using zenki struts with kouki arms.

1 complete front strut assembly with upper mount. L or R, blown, doesn't matter. For a short control arm car. Strut tube/spindle cannot be damaged.

1 rear shock and upper mount. (There are no differences, right?)

If anyone near Chicago can deliver this junk or ship them to me, good things will happen.

Made by highly regarded manufacturer. Not me.

U.S. based, reliable service, parts, and warranty. Company is highly regarded by many enthusiasts.
Choice of springs, I'm going to tell them 10k/8k, and 12k/10k. Other springs are availible, but valving will be based on those rates. This should be the best choice considering the weight of the car.
Rear coilovers will mount in the shock position.
      15-way adjustable damping.
      Front camber plates, pillowball mounts.
External resevoir version may be an option.

      Nice work Nivo.

So the whole kit will go for what about $1700-2200 or somewhere around there? Sounds like a very nice setup!

Oh, ok, just read the original edited post. they are not even being experimented with yet, you still need the stuff and stuff.

hrmm, whole struts are like 50$ in the j/y, I can have one out in about 30 mins.. but how much to ship such an item from Atlanta? I don't think that I want to know.

Any time estimates of when they'll be up for sale/pre-sale?

i am not japanese, but i think i have the info you are talking about. in my 86 i have 85 turbo strut tubes with 88 turbo control arms. last time i got a wheel alignment i had 1.1 left and 1.2 right -camber in the front.. so i guess if "zenki" means 84-86 and "kouki" means 87-89 you have your answer.

zenki refers to oldest generation which would be 84 style and kouki refers to the newer variation such as the rounded 88 model year.
