  • buying wheels

I'm buying wheels for the Z soon & wanted to know if anyone had some good places for me to shop. Searching the internet & forums is very time consuming. Though I'm still doing that, I figured I'd check here with all you very informed individuals. Here's what I'm looking for:
    17x9 fronts
    17x10 rears

I want polished lips & 5 flat black spokes. No curl to them, no taper to them. I don't want the Mustang wheels found on Ebay.

I have wheel adapters (1" & 1.25") that permit me to fit wheels made for Z32s that normally wouldn't fit our cars. Or I can run direct fit wheels. No real preference. I just want to get the size & look I'm after. Thanks!

What is wrong with the wheels you have now? I think they look damn good on you car. Actually I like those wheels better than 90+% of all wheels Ive seen on Z31s.

I always like Tirerack.com, they have pretty good search info and product selection.
http://www.takumiproject.com/ may give you some ideas.
Just stand back and throw money.
    Performance costs money.
    Reliable performance costs more.

I love the look of my 18s but they are only 8s and are quite heavy. Not the best for the track. My 17s are only 8" fronts & 9" rears. They are not my favorite style - but they came on my TT so they were basically free. I want to just have one set of wheels/tires that I love. I'm going to run track tires all the time as I don't really put that many miles on my car. Also my alignment was set with my 17s & set for track events. But that means my 18s were wearing out my street tires wrong & the car didn't handle the same with the alignment for the 17s. I'm trying to simplify my life with one set of wheels/tires that will do everything for me. Thanks for the link!!

Love those but they don't come in 17s. Just 18-20s & they are about $700+/each.

So does this mean you'll be selling your current sets of wheels?

              Yes, both sets.
              Enkei - polished lip & powder coated spokes - 17x8 & 17x9 $1000
              Boyds - polished aluminum - 18x8 & 18x10 $2000
Both sets of wheels have tires & I use 1" adapters with both sets. Those are NOT included. I think my lil brother is going to buy the Enkeis for the TT I sold him & a guy in town with a Mustang is coming to look at the Boyds.

I'd say Edgeracing.com for 5Zigen Fnr01-c's. Got them in lots of offsets for 17x9 and 17x10, pretty low prices. But then you said no taper.

Ok I am more flexible than when I first posted. I'd go with taper, hyper silver instead of black, etc... But I want big lips on the wheels. Thanks for the info. I'll be checking it out.

I checked them all out on that site. Great prices, nice wheels. But nothing there grabbed my eye. The search continues.
