  • Aftermarket TT brake pads. few specs inside

I did a search and came up with this thread if you want to go through it. but this is some stuff that I found out on the I-net. Again, its the I-net so take it with a grain of salt unless you know for a fact about the specs.

Also I think it would be great if you guys could add stuff to it if you know anything.

Hawk pads offer from race to street spec in decending order.
Race compound HT10 good to 1400* part #HB178S
Semi race are the Blue 9012 compound (dont know temp on those) Part #HB178E
    Street/strip HP+ (no temp spec) part # HB178N
Street HPS (no temp spec) part # HB178F

Axxis offers ( I belive in order from race to street strip)
Semi race compound Axxis Ultimate good to 1022*F
Street/strip Axxis Metal Master good to 752*F

    EBC
    offers
Semi race = Red stuff pads
    Street/strip = Green stuff ( I believe good to about 750* also)

    Hawk
I believe has the widest selection and they offer an actual race pad, unlike the others which are more aimed at the auto cross driver.

Keep in mind most race pads have poor cold response and only work well when they are heated up (200-300*) Dont go buying race pads for a car that sees the track once everyother year.

If anyone else has stuff that they want to correct or add or anything, please chime in.

I've just bought a set of EBC Green stuff, AU$180. I won't be able to use them on the zed for a while as I'm rebuilding it but I had these pads on my previous car and they are nuts. Can thrash the thing all day through the twisties and really stand on the brakes and no fade whatsoever.

I noticed on the packaging that these pads are for 300zxtt/ Skyline and Subaru Impreza WRX. Subaru are obviously running the same Sumitomo 4 piston caliper as Nissan are.

Hmm, does it say what years of the wrx? Not the STI's right cause those run Brembo's.

Here is a pic of a WRX front caliper. Looks damn near the sam minus the subaru part! http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1206564 ... 2020zyVDQD

Ok, so I have found that it looks as though the WRX 06 has the aluminum sumitomo calipers (same as the TT calipers)

Also the 79-83 toyota 4wd trucks use these as well, as can be seen here installed on a 280 zx http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... 47,GGLD:en

I'm looking at using this fluid when the time comes to do it. What are you guys in the states using?

I just picked up a set of axxis ultimate pads. I got the ones for the 90 NA because they are thicker for use on the 26 mm rotor which is what I currently have.

Check out http://www.r1concepts.com/ I got them for 65 shipped.
Usually everyone runs the Metal masters but i've had a hard time finding those like Firehawk said. But the ultimates are supposed to be more RACE than the metal masters. Anyone got any comparison experience between the metal masters and teh ultimates?

Ultimates are good to 1022*F and metal masters are good to 752*F

just a word of warning, typically " race " pads until they are heated to operating temperature will not only not perform all that well ( as SATAN said above) but they are also quite prone to chewing up rotors pretty quickly.
At least this is the case with the higher heat rated Hawk pads.

again take that with a grain of salt, as its word of mouth through guys i've talked to at track events.

some race pads are the opposite, they disintegrate into dust quickly leaving your rotor just fine for many pad changes

06+ WRX are the same, but I don't believe the toyotas are.

Same caliper, different mounting? Or are they pretty much identical?

Terrible idea putting those wheels on...

Yes sorry, you are correct. What I ment to say is that the trucks use 4 pot calipers. They dont even look the same though. However if they bolt toa 280 then they will bolt to 300's right?
