  • Group Buy - Rota D2 Deep Lip Wheels - Updated 11-5-06

PAWI (Rota) Is reviewing their market to see if there is a demand for 18x9.5 and 18x10 D2 wheels. We are still in contact with them and we will know more within a week as of November 5th 2006.

This GB is for the possible D2 wheels in the sizes following:

For the year group of 87-89 and 84AE/86 (suspension swap puts them with 87-89)
The sizes can be: (suggestions welcomed)

    18 X 9.5 in +15...Roughly 4.25 inches of lip
    18 X 10 in +10...Roughtly 4.75 inches of lip

    84/85

You would need $425 down (non-refundable deposit) then in about 2.5 - 3 months the oher half is due.

    all 4 wheels for $850! + shipping

5 people needed for each color/year group only!

Be a part of having custom wheels fitted/made to the Z31!

    List of buyers

I always loved the look of staggered sets of wheels on the Z31!

pricing is not finalized but usually the 18" wheels go from $650-$950

depending on sizes and color options.

compared to other wheels not bad. Some guys spend 3 times that and still add spacers!

I was willing to get wheels for up to $975 but staggered for that RWD aggressive look/stance.

Here is a link showing the way rotas are made.

I didn't read the propoganda, but it looks like they use low pressure casting

usually produces less flaws but also softer wheels

          Why so big offset?
-+0mm offset would be better for that size wheels.

            which wheels were the +20?

I based it so it a one size fits all according to the AZ-Bum charts.

I mean, +20 all around would be bad

            I can change that.

I am working on it, that and the offset. trying to get concensus of what offset we need for all 84-89 z31's

also what colors are people interested in?

I like Hyperblack with polished lip or Bronze with polished lip.

That price you put up there is for the set of 4 right?
I think the offset you chose would fit perfect
                      I currently have F 17x8.5 e25 R 17x9.5 e20 without any spacers and heres
                      how they look

These are the ones I like but they are 3 piece and cost around $650 each and look alot like the Rota D2 below for a fraction of the cost

yes, the Rota D2 was made for RWd vehicles primarily in the staggered fitments. I always liked the SSR Professors sp1, but i too cringe at paying $650/wheel!

Rota listened and mocked up a popular wheel and did a nice job at it!

I know the staggered P45F/R goes for $875+ for the set!

these should be no different since rota doesn't charge extra for custom sets of wheels rather style, size and finishes.
