  • 87-89 front arms

Are all of them 10mm longer that the 84-86?

Terrible idea putting those wheels on...

Yes, They add -.5 degrees camber, which makes a big difference. I've done this conversion on all my Z's.

Edit: only 4/87 - 89 control arms are 10mm longer. Basically, if it has different tension rods than the 84-86, then it has the longer control arms. You will need the tension rods as well.

I believe that is incorrect. It's actually all
        87-89's

only 88-89's have the different tension rods.

You don't have to have the have the tension rods. The new tension rods are better if you can get them and the front bracket. I swaped the control arms out in my 84 with 88 control arms and reused the 84 tension rods.
...and how much HP do you have at 0 boost

Is there a visual way to check if a set of control arms are in fact the longer ones. By measuring or side by side. Because side by side i dont really see a difference here. I better not have gotten hosed

Like most shit there, that thread never came to a resolution. People just quit posting.

I never understood why people feel the later tension rods were better. In stock form it seems like they would actually be softer and less desireable. I was looking at a pair or early tension rods yesterday and wondered about fitting a heim to the threaded end of it. Haven't done any measuring yet, but it could be a simple way to get to a solid tension rod w/o having to modify a S1X/Z32 style rod.
