  • Luggage Strap Tie Down Install

I purchased a '84 turbo coupe with the luggage strap tie down in the hatch area missing. It's the piece roughly between the tail lights inside the hatch that the luggage straps pass through. The seller included a replacement tie down, looks like the piece in the photo. But I can't tell how it's supposed to be installed, and I can't find anything in the FSM, the Haynes manual, or online would explain. Can anyone help me? How do I get this thing installed?

I'm going to assume you still have the straps installed along with the other two anchors. Strap loops through the anchor you have pictured then secures to the cleat. There is a v-shaped notch in the trunk (center of the trunk on the edge close to the lights) that the pin (silver thing in the pic) secures to.

That was it. That's what I was missing. I just didn't know what I needed to look for. Thanks!
