One of those has got to be wrong.
Very good. You know your fans.
You are also correct about the current. It does draw just over 12 amps on startup but backs off to just under 10 amps while running. Moves alot of air but not as much as the twin Spal fans I have on the 86. BUT the Spals also draw 40 amps.
That is a nice setup there also. I don't think clean is needed much. It looks quite good to me.
Just because a fan is advertised as pulling "x" cfm and runs at "x" amps, doesn't mean it actually does. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.1976 280Z 2+2 Turbo

I just noticed all the shenanigans about the Taurus fans. I have had one of these in my car for allmost 3 years now and it works great! I never bothered to hook up the low and high settings. Only the high.
Funny I just caught this. Oh and yes, it moves a VERY good amount of air85 Z31 6.0 LSX turbo 766whp/792wtq

I bought a taurus fan from a fellow Hybridz.org member for $10.00. My original fan shroud looked like crap and was cracked. I also dont care for the original setup and decided to put it in last spring. I initially only wired the high speed wire using an adjustable thermostat, and then directly to the battery.
Bad idea, killed both battery and alternator.
Went out and bought a 92 maxima alternator and new battery. I also bought a 40amp inline fuse. I installed the fuse and the new parts and found out I had an old battery and what looked like the original alternator.
Couldnt get the Max alt to stop squealing even though I tried smaller belts and adjusting it out as far as I could, it died shortly there after. Turns out, it wasnt squealing from the inside being loose, but from the sides since it wasnt perfectly aligned. Took it back and got the stock alternator and this time I only wired the low speed.
My taurus fan only kicks on for about 15 seconds after I turn the car off then it turns itself off. Its quieter than the stock fan setup, and gives more room to replace the alternator when that time comes.
