  • walbro no worky

I don't seem to be getting fuel pressure with the key on after I installed my walbro. I've checked fuses. I guess I'll check the few relays next. Also, I have my dash and stuff out, I'm redoing the interior. Would the dash wiring harness being out effect this in some way? I reinstalled just the harness to check things out, and I installed the wiring into the blocks on either side. Hope someone has an idea. Thanks...

fuses seem good, and my wiring job has continuity. I checked the body harness's plug for it, and I don't seem to get a reading from it with the key on, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm electrically stupid, I won't deny it. now it looks like I cooked my multimeter, heh.

lol start from the pump (have you tried bypassing the system and giving it constant 12v?) , work your way up to the ecu to find the fault .

bust out the wiring diagram , check continuity and voltage readings where needed . get the shiit done!

I tried giving the pump 12v from a battery charger and nothing happened... Whenever I try to test wiring I don't get a reading. I wonder if the multimeter is bad or I'm doing something wrong. Man I wish I knew what I was doing! Where can I find a write-up on this type of thing?

for a continuity test on the pump I get my reading of zero on the ground parallel to the hot lead.

but for the other ground, I get a reading of infinity. Seems a bit weird since they both run into the same damn ground wire.

Notice I frayed the wires for the battery charger check.
                I don't get it.

I just tried putting a test light on the lead's prong that goes to the pump (with the key on) and I got no light. Does this mean the problem is other than the pump or am I doing something wrong? 20$ paypal to the person that helps me solve this. So serious.

If you can put an actual 12 volts to the pump itself then it should turn. You said you did this and nothing???? If this is the case then you either the connections on the pump are bad or the pump is bad itself period.

First things first. You gotta make sure the pump itself is working.

I like to use an actual battery instead of a charger. Just me though. Try it.

so I yanked the stupid pump, continuity is good. I did the test with a battery with some jumper cables and nothing. So the pump must be bad, great...

At least it is the pump and not your soldering job

Terrible idea putting those wheels on...

                            An update....

I ordered a walbro from a different vendor since express fuel pumps doesn't talk to me. if you see that vendor on ebay, steer clear. On this next pump I'm going to bench test it as soon as I get the sonofabitch.

When you do that, only do it for a brief second to see if it is working. Running a pump in open air for too long will destroy it. NO water either!
