  • the car dosent start so good

ok well for the last few days my car has been acting weird.i have to crank over the car like a madman(10-15 seconds) then it finally runs but barely at all, but when i gas it, it stalls out.it chuggs really hard when i have it half way to the floor to keep it alive, but once its started and runs for a few min it stops and goes back to normal, its been a fight everytime i start my car.

    any ideas?

i knew someone would say that. when ever i run the codes, its always different. one time a code will pop up, and then the next time it wont get any codes.

        Kinda hard to tell.

        Maf maybe?

Terrible idea putting those wheels on...

In your current state the codes will be useless. Your only hope was the first set of codes it threw when this started.

Did you have any irregularities before this hard starting issue began?
Just stand back and throw money.
          Performance costs money.
          Reliable performance costs more.

ever since i did the NA2T the 84 ecu im using never gave the codes properly.
before i had slight poping in the exaust, at a certain rpm it kinda sputters, then clears out when gas is applied.

i dont think its the maf, as the car runs good once its warmed up.
should i be worried about burning up the starter?
ive also removed all the junk on the intake manifold, egr, aiv, ficd

Check your timing and plugs. Try turning key to on position, then off, then try starting. Check chts. Give us a bit more info to help you out.

I have just encountered the same problem as you during this past weekend, which is the first time I have driven my 86T in more than a month. My timing checked out ok, new plugs, wires, fuel filter, chts & harness, 10 gallons of fresh 93 octane...... I could hear my fuel pump runnung...... I fought it pretty hard on Saturday until it warmed up, then again I had to fight it on Sunday until it warmed up.

I have come to suspect it's something on the exhaust side. Maybe a clogged cat or cracked manifold...... If I find out more this weekend I will post again, but please advise me if you can find any clues first......

ok today i jumped into the car, it started perfectly, made it about 5 min away from home, then it just stalled in the middle of super busy traffic.had the car towed home for 60$, got it in the garage, unplugged the ECU, let it sit for 30 min, then it started perfectly. im so pissed off at this this car.hopefully my friend makes it by to check the cpu codes.

the CHTS is severly broken, got a new one comming on thursday.

                  so frustrating

I checked my codes last night and CHTS didn't come up...... It better not come up anyway since I just replaced it and the sub-harness less than 5,000 miles ago...... I will pull all the plugs and see what's up...... sigh, the frustration continues......
