    Rousch Wheels

Before you start tearing into me for not reviewing the tire/wheel fitment charts for the Z31 and I did, and went through the wheel show as well. And according to the information on the site, the rears shouldn't have fit either, but there is about 1.5-2 inchs to spare to the spring and it fits perfectly flush with the fender on the outside.

I recently had a set of Rousch Wheels fall into my possession. Since they where there for the taking, I thought they were 18x9 for the fronts and 18x10 for the rear but they are in fact 18x10 + 41 for the front and 18x10 +46 for the rear. I mounted the rears (275/45-18 and they fit perfectly. The fronts are 235/50-18's and the tire is coming in contact with the strut housing by about 3/4 of an inch. These wheels also look to have about a 26.5-27 inch diameter whereas my stockers are closer to 25 inches. I was wondering if anyone has been able to get wheels this size on their Z31 and what size tire they used. Looking at them, a lower profile tire might fit. I was thinking a 245/35-18 would fit. Would they fit with coilovers? I'd just like to know before I do invest money into changing out the tires and then they don't even fit.

I have pictures but can't get them to upload from my computer or my phone for some reason.

Get the tires dismounted and sell them…

Most people will tell you to sell the wheels too… I have a solution that would work if you really like them however, you'll need to get a pair of front s13 coilovers for it

the proper way is to use the bare wheel, straight edge, and a measuring devise to figure this stuff out.

I run 265/35R18 on 18x9.5s front and rear and rolling diameter is very close to the stock 225/50R16 rolling diameter.

I do plan on getting the coilovers eventually. But without them on hand it is hard to tell if the wheels are worth keeping. I don't have the funds or the 88/89 front struts and hubs. I already have z32 30mm calipers and a z32 master cylinder. Just looking for the struts. I plan on selling the wheels, but thought they might sell better mounted rather than bare and didn't want to waste money dismounting them and remounting them if they won't work. Thanks for the reply.

I know, I was hoping someone would have the info available to save some money just to dismount. That and all my tools are still in customs from my move from Germany recently. I still can't believe my car made it here before my tools and clothes.

Thanks for the info for comparison. What's the offset on your wheels. Either way the 275/50-18s are going. They are way too tall. The rears are going, too as the show signs of dry rot.

There are no other coilover options that will make them fit than my solution.... a coilover body is thicker than the factory strut tube, if it's in the same spot, you wheel will have to be 1" or more away

The struts and brakes are separate items, you don't need turbo struts for turbo brakes/hubs… they are interchangeable

If you like the wheels, they can be made to work… but if you don't have the will or funds to make them work, then go with something tame

I was under the impression that you needed the turbo hubs to do the weld in struts. I have been looking at your set-up and I am curious. Again, just moved from Germany, was forced to quit my job there because of a divorce, and I'm currently waiting for my household goods to get through customs. All my parts and tools are with my HHG. On top of that, there was a hiring freeze on the job I came to Detroit to get and now I'm sitting with my thumb up my butt.

Detroit was probably a mistake… they're still going to be in turn-around for another decade, but at least you can find cheap housing

I took some measurements and used this URL (http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp that I found on Inquis-Z-tor's website). According to it, my new wheel would be 56mm (2.2 inches) closer to the strut and still stick out from the fender by 14mm. I measured an extra 26mm (1 inch) or so between my stock tire and the strut. I would need a 30mm spacer to get the wheel to fit and then it would stick out of the fender by 44mm (a~1 3/4") Looks like this is a no go, for me. Oh, well.

Thanks for all the help, guys. Willing to trade for similar sized wheels with at max a 9 inch wide front. LOL

Yeah, I know Detroit was a mistake. I'm only here until I finish my degree (which is online), Any work would be just to pay for the Z anyway. I didn't have anywhere to go after the Army forced me back to the states when they started the budget cuts.
