    vg30e weight?

    450lbs just a guess. but I wann see how close I am when people chime in.
    85 Z31 6.0 LSX turbo 766whp/792wtq
    04 GTO, LS6, big cam, porting, N20… underway for summertime daily driver.

    Well it varies with what accessories, etc. you have on the engine, but my W Series NA motor with alternator, power steering, etc. weighed just under 300 lbs.

    Holy shit! are you serious? that seems way low for some reason. thought the block alone weighed somthing like 100-150 supposedly?

    well the two heads easily wiegh 100 lbs with everything in them

    then you got the block=100 roughly
    crank = 30-40
    manifolds+crossover=20-30?
    flyweel 20
    rods and pistons=20?
    intake mani and plenum=10?
    balancer,alternator,power s. pump, ac comp and bracket, water pump, valve covers and oil pan, and TB=65-85?

    thats roughly 375 on the low side.

    I've got my shipping receipt from when my motor arrived from Conway freight. Who knows, their scales may have been a bit off. Reguardless, someone needs to weigh a VG30 for reference.

    Ill weigh my engine later this week once I get it pulled. Will post up when I have the numbers. :wink:

    fedex told me my vg30 with everything except accessories weighed close to 500 .lbs.

    I have an 87 engine hanging on a stand back home. Maybe i'll find a way to weight it.
    My beloved Z:1987 2+2 NA2T w/30a swap.
    My black sheep: 88ss parts car (pretty much stripped and gone)
    207k miles and counting. Turbo'd since 155k.

    The VG30E is under 300lbs without acessories… the ET is a little more with the turbocharger. The heads are actually around 32lbs each assembled (based on shipping weight).
