    DIY: Bead Roller for Intercooler Pipes

    Inspired by a thread in the Engine Mechanical section that linked to dsmtuners… Which I can no longer find because the search feature be pullin houdini's

    first time was a charm. total cost, $15 bucks for 5 vice grips that I don't really use often… so that's like 3 bucks. + 2 bucks for exhaust clamp. Hardened steel washer (from something or other) and some keen welds. under 8 bucks total ($CDN!) the pipe shown is a test pipe that is getting shortened.

    i am going to make a stopper plate and weld a nut on this sometime this week when I use it for real so that I can push the tube into the tool and rest it on the plate so the bead is concentric all the way around and perfectly centered. if you don't do this, you need to just take a lot more time before crushing the pipe between the jaws.
