    Rocker Panel Trim Clips Needed

I have my '88 300zxt at the body shop getting the front clip shot. The passenger side grey rocker trim piece has started to pull away in the center due to some broken clips. The body guy is hesitant to pull it completely off until we know we can get more clips to properly reattach it. Does anyone know what they are called by Nissan or have a part number? I looked in my FSM and the illustration is only about 60% correct from what I see on my car and no part numbers are listed. I did several searches on here and I checked Courtesy's website but no dice. Also did several Google and Ebay searches but coming up empty handed there too. Any help is greatly appreciated.

They are hard to remove without breaking them. I have a parts car, as soon as the rain stops, I'll give it a try again.

You can also try this web site. Good vendor, done business with him before.

Restore it, Don't crush it. They don't make them like this anymore.

Hey Tim, if you take it apart would you mind snapping some pics of it? My driver's side rocker panel piece is loose at the rear wheel opening. I think it's a broken clip but I'd like to see what it looks like before I tear it apart just in case it won't go back together.

You mean where the side skirt attaches?

I doesn't have them because they are difficult to get out unbroken. I've had at least 20 parts cars and I quit trying after the 5th or 6th car after only getting one out unbroken. I suppose they could be cut out but I have never bothered due to the low value in resale potential VS time to do it. My personal cars have never needed one either. If someone knows a trick to removing them, I'll start saving them.

You stand a better chance of getting them out in one piece when the retainer and the surrounding metal is warm.
    When they're cold, they're brittle.

I am willing to bet the reason Steve does not have any is because they break so easily. What would plan B be for this? Double sided trim tape or something else?

I would look for a suitable equivalent rather than relying on VHB tape alone.

I highly doubt you can find them, but here are up close pictures of what an unbroken one looks like:
