Tail lights stuck on.
I went to start my car one morning 2 weeks ago and it was flat out dead. I had it jumped later and all was well. I happened to notice that once the car was turned off that the tail lights remained on. I detached the sensor and sure enough it was toast. So I just purchased a replacement one and attached it and same problem, tail lights turn on the second they are plugged in. What's the catch? I don't have a clue what to do. Any suggestions would be great. -

Your switch on the brake pedal need either adjusted or replaced. ()when the sensor box is disconnected it completely disables the rear lights, regardless of the brake pedal position. -

There a little round plastic button that the switch on the brake pedal contacts. They break and fall out and the brake lights stay on

Sweet guys, thanks for the replies. I checked under the steering wheel and found the broken rubber stopper. I had read about this along time ago and had forgotten about it. My cruise control has never worked either so now I'll get that fixed at the same time. -

Google is your friend for common Z31 issues. If you're tight on cash duct tape and a penny will do the trick. http://z31.com/repairs/brakepedal/ -
