86 factory side skirt gasket
Anybody know where I can get replacements? I checked Courtesy Parts, but they are NLA.

If they are no where to be found, I could use some ideas of what to use in place of the gaskets.
I took the skirts off the car because I am getting ready to paint it. The drivers side gasket broke. -

I thought about using a roll of vinyl door edge molding that is basically a U channel and carefully
cutting down one leg of the U channel, making it an L channel and seeing how that looks.
Or using it along the top edge and then sanding flat the part of the radius that touches the sheetmetal.
I just purchased a roll of it from Oreillys for an edge protector on my E-fan install.
A few more minutes of googling found 3M fender flare trim that looks like it could
be a suitable replacement:
Haven't found it available in many places though, these guys sell it by the roll

I also thought about the vinyl door edging. I may end up using that fender flare trim, though. Thanks, Z_Karma.
I also wanted to replace the rubber headlight bucket trim pieces but they are NLA as well.

Just going to have to clean them up as best I can and re-use. -

Perhaps a dumb idea?
I'm presuming the gasket (protector) is to minimize abrasion of the side skirt against the car body (maybe seals it better) ? (Not sure how to phrase it).
Why not .. plastic-kote that area with thin layer? Maybe 2-3 light coats? If you don't like it or it doesn't work .. peel it off?
Or .. maybe some vinyl wrap material??'84Z31 GLL turbo|theZenthusiast site: http://www.thezenthusiast.com |

You mean mask it off and use aerosol Plasti-Dip?
That isn't half bad of an idea. It would do the job of sealing
the edge to keep the gunk out.

They used a paint gun type kit .. not aerosol cans .. but I'm guessing .. for just a gasket type application, aerosol cans are probably sufficient?'84Z31 GLL turbo|theZenthusiast site: http://www.thezenthusiast.com |

Hmmm I suppose Plasti-dip would work if enough layers were applied. The vinyl wrap idea may work as well. Lay a strip down where the skirt meets the body.
