Well.... it's in. Rather than fucking around with modding the mount, I drilled new holes through the frame slotted bolts with fender washers and just bolted it in. I'd be very interested to see why some are able to bolt it in.

There are different part numbers for the trans bracket. I assume that where the difference is.

I used the mount from a '86 71c to install my '87 30a, albeit with custom poly bushings and welded upper piece… so I can tell you the mounts may have different stampings, minor shape variation or whatnot, but the critical dimensions are the same
