Please educate me on Z31 speedo cables.
Ok, I'm confused. I just completed my NA2T, and auto to manual swap. All very simple and straighforward, I can't wait to try it. But I have one thing left to do, and I'm a bit confused. I have an 87 GL with analogue gauges. My trans is a T5 from an 84 turbo with digital dash. I fully expected my 87 to have a speedo cable, but alas, it has a speed sensor wire of some sort. What cable, or combination of cables/sensors do I need to get, to make my T5 work in my 87? Thanks. -

Is it really just that easy? Will it thread into my existing speedo ok? Cause it seems to me that my 87 auto, doesn't have a cable at all. What am I missing here? -

you use the screw on connection for the car, but the insert for the transmission that matches the trans and rear. I just did an auto-manual and NA-t swap on an 86 with analog. an 84AE was the donor. we swapped trans and rear end - to match. and used the insert for the trans, and screwed on the actual cable for the speedo that's with the car.
yours being 87 analog it's a sensor.Damn dirty angels....these cars!
Current Daily Driver - 86 Turbo.
Under the cover - THE BANANA… that needs to be re-energized.
