    Perfomance Chip Install

    Hello All;

    A friend who doesn't have the internet yet ( I know) asked me to order a performance chip for his 1986 300zx non turbo coupe. We received it today but have no idea which 2 wires to tie it into. Could someone please tell us which two wires from the diag below this chips needs to be tied to?

    E ---> battery souirce +
    B ---> Output voltage
    A ---> Variable resister
    D ---> Ground
    F ---> Self Cleaning
    C ---> Ground

    Thanks;

    Is this a cheap "universal" resistor mod that your trying to wire into the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)? If so they are a waste of time and you will likely get worse gas mileage. If your actually considering wiring a resistor in because they claim it will make something like 25hp.....fail. Do it right, buy nistune.

    They actually sell these for 59.99 and 69.99. What a scam.

    We looked at the little box and had to wonder what was inside. Our temptation to open it was great! It was our hope that it would be a high tech programmable chip, but couldn't figure out how it would send commands back to the ecu since it was connecting to a resistance feed back wire. Good thing thing our curiosity didn't get the best of us. We will be sending it back and looking into a nistune.

    Wonder how many times this thread has been run.... I couldn't find the search field in this version of phpBB. Must be turned off in the admin.

    Thanks for you help!

    This brings up something I've been meaning to ask. Are there guys around willing/able to burn chips for these cars? I just can't see purchasing $500 nistune on a N/A car when the most I'm going to get is a couple extra hp. Turbo, yes, but I'm having a hard time rationalizing it for a N/A.

    I can burn chips if you provide, or I can get them but cost will go up. Depends what you want. I have all the stock bins and JWT bins.
    Hmmm, Whats next?

    AS Shromy said you can get chips burned, but they won't be much good unless you get one done for the mods you have done. Getting a stock bin file is kind of a waste of time. It you are going to do the normal bolt on mods i.e. air filter, headers exhaust and cam gears a good tune will get you to about 160WHP. Cams, porting heads and gutted plenum will need a different tune. You might as well get Nistune, then you can turn as you do mods and if you go NA2T later on it can be used for that as well
    …and how much HP do you have at 0 boost

    ^^ I agree, I swap things around so it not a stock bin. But Nistune is the way to go really, it can also be used if you go turbo etc.
