    CONSULT Connector?

I am wondering if someone can confirm that this is the Nissan CONSULT connector in my '88 Turbo? I have read that the '88 and '89 Z31's had it. My car is a December '87 build so before I buy the connector kit I want to make sure I can use it. If this is not the connector can someone show me a picture of what it looks like? Thank you.

Yes, that is the consult cable for Nissan.

Its pretty much worthless nowadays because Nissan doesn't even have the supportive technology to plug into it.

All you can really do is admire the extra dongle!

Thank you Amre. Yeah, I know its old stuff but I am getting an intermittent CEL and want to be able to pull the codes easier than doing the LED observation. I am getting one of the interface plugs to use with an old laptop. Its definitely not the latest and great but it might provide some clues to what else is causing the CEL codes.

Snap-On scan tools (the better ones) come with an adapter for it. You can clear the codes then. Upon going to "Read Codes" it just gave you the information on how to do so using the lights lol

I got my interface, see Ebay listing below. The connector on it is for the CONSULT connector in a Z32. I cannot find anything online that shows the pinouts to go from the CONSULT connector in my car to the Z32 CONSULT connector. If anyone has seen this or knows of it please let me know. I have searched out around on the various tuning sites to no avail.

You can't use Z32+ consult…it wont read it…ever. Even if you change the connector its not going to work because its an entirely different system.

I appreciate the offer Liladair. I have the car up for sale but if I end up keeping and I can't figure the issue out I may take you up on your offer. Thank you!

The snap on tool is called a solus. I have one at my shop here in Houston.
