    7500rpm stock limiter ?

gday guys i recently got a z31 2+2 non turbo, auto, usual vg

everywhere ive searched it says the stock limiter is 6500rpm and that its not safe to rev above said rpm,
but my limiter is set a 7500rpm and it appears to me that the car is stock, no engine work, stock injectors intake exhaust etc,
just got it properly running, bought it as a project car and went to give it a little test and went full lock around my roundabout and it was bashing 7500rpm all the way around,
hits 7500 knocks off to 7000 then back up again, anyone got any clues to why its set so high?
im from australia and ive read about the different cams they put in the aussie and euro models,
checked the cam specs and they are identical to the nismo cams that you could buy for the engine,
not that a high limiter bothers me, just curious as to why its so high,
    cheers, jak

Jumpy tach, that limiter is at 6600 as OE…your tach is just inaccurate/jumpy.

USDM and JDM rev limiter is 6400. Euro spec (covers Australia and New Zealand even though they arent europe) is 6600.

In fact what says 4500rpm on your tach sounds closer to 3500. lol

car was running on 4 cylinders at the time, first time i had it properly kicked over, its on all cylinders now, so your think its the tach, tomorrow ill take the tacho out of my other car, and ill wire it in temporarily and check against that tacho, which i know for sure is spot on, ill get back to you about it

tach was out, as the revs progressed it grew larger, started off at 200rpm at 2 grand, then by 3 grand it was out by 300rpm, etc etc, guess ill be purchasing a new tacho to put in it

Tach runs of off coil pulses, misfires due to spark problems will cause it to read incorrectly.

It is not recommended to confirm proper installation by driving into walls or other barriers as this could cause personal injury or damage to the vehicle.

i think its just the tach in the dash thats buggered, sometimes i have to give the top of the dash a little whack to get the needle to start moving, and my engine is running on all 6 cylinders now thanks to new plugs and injector seals, but thats what happens when you buy a car that had sat in the same place for 5 years,
