    no fuel, no spark

A little history, 500 dollar rusty rocket. Car sat for....tabs are from 2001 so who really knows, long time. Did the basics, new fuel, oil, coolant, timing belt, tensioner, battery, plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor, blah, blah. When I dumped the old fuel I pumped out the varnish KOIO but when I did the fuel pump only worked intermittently. After I put the manifold back together when I did the plugs and wires, KOIO, nothing. No fuel pump at all. Checked the fuse, replaced it, replaced all of them for that matter, replaced fuel pump relay with a known good, verified 12 volts to fuel pump harness but I only get the voltage when I ground to the chassis which led me to believe the relay isn't getting a signal. Replaced the fuel pump for shits and giggles and jumped it with 12 volts so its good and finally slapped a new ecu in it. Still nothing. I'm stumped. Any help would be much appreciated. Oh yeah, 85 turbo.

I didn't have time to get the dash off but I got the seat out and the carpet up and the wire loom looks good although the alarm box is a completely corroded piece of shit. Will the car function without those boxes plugged in?

Alarm can be removed and the car will be unaffected.
    Have you run codes yet?
    Sounds like a bad CAS.

Verified voltage to the ecu from the fuse panel. Would a bad CAS cause the fuel pump to not prime as well as no spark? I tried the self diagnosis on both ECUs and the LEDs didn't even come on. Haven't taken the dash off yet cause I'm afraid I'll never get it back on right, I did get the center of the dash off and saw no signs of faulty wiring anywhere in there. Still stumped

Check your fusable links. If they feel really soft, inspect further. Check wires for damage near the battery and starter.

Ok, I checked the fusible links with a volt meter. They should little resistance but I got a roll of the stuff so I'll swap it out didn't check the stated motor though I will do that next.

Update, I beat the shit out of the ignition switch with an inch and a half wrench and the instrument cluster came on. I beat the shit out of it some more, put in the old ECU and it started XD. Thanks for your help peoples, I appreciate the responses.

further update, put in a maxima alt. new/used PS pump got an 87 NA ecu with a nistune board and a liscense, just rebuilt my hy35 last night, got an AEM wideband O2 sensor, manual boost controller, 750cc DSM injectors, intercooler, BOV, z32 TT fuel pump dropped in the tank, southbend stage 2 daily behind the flywheel. This Z has been a blast. The turbo, board, injectors and IC are going in next weekend. Any suggestions on the right base tune for this kind of set up?
