  • PLX SM-AFR WBO2 0-1VDC Narrow Band Output

I have a question that hopefully somebody has tried by now. I have a PLX SM-AFR WBO2 sensor, which has a built in 0-1VDC narrow band output. Has anybody attempted to run this wire to pin 24 to the ECU? I am in high hopes this will work, but have my doubts.

In lieu of an answer, If you have a digital multimeter you could measure the voltage output of the o2 sensor at operating temp at the pin and compare it to the narrowband output of the PLX. I googled for spec sheets for the NTK and Bosch sensors to find a output range but was unsuccessful.

How do you like the PLX? i was looking at purchasing this setup from Amazon.

The PLX is fine, no issues with it. I have the damn Oddball Z 1986 makes everything difficult. I have a 1988 ECU which is looking for a 4 wire sensor. I know I can make the factory stuff work, but sure would like to use the PLX analog output. I know it works well I can measure it. 0.5 volts at 14.7 AFR.

Can you verify if a 1988 NA ECU was looking for a 3 or 4 wire O2 sensor? If looking for a 3-wire on a NA ECU I think I am OK.

Yep, It is a 3 wire sensor.

NA ECU uses a 3 wire Zirconia sensor which self generates a ~1Vdc voltage signal, measured at pin 24,

Turbo ECU uses a 3 wire Titania sensor which acts as a resistor, using a 1Vdc source supplied pin 115 and then measures the voltage output at pin 24

Then nothing will work for me, my car used a rare 3-wire Titania , but ECU is looking for a Zircona???

Shouldn't matter. Both types of sensors are 3 wire (edited my post), the difference is how they supply the ECU with the signal voltage, but both supply it to pin 24.

All the ECU (NA and Turbo) is really looking for is a 0-1V voltage signal on pin 24. I would think you should be fine running the simulated narrow band output of the PLX to that pin.

I think the simulated is also fine and will try tomorrow. I have been studying the 1986 and 1988 FSM's tonight closely. The problem lies in that the 1988 NA ECU is looking for a yellow wire on pin 115 in the harness, but on a 1986 harness there is no wire on pin 115 going to the ECU. I have no idea what 115 of the ECU on a late NA ECU does though. I am looking.
