    Nissan VG valve differences

Nissan has used an number of valves for the various VG30 and VG33s with unknown performance differences and very different pricing - a full set of VG33E valves is just $53.58 from my local dealership while a full set of VG30ET is $135.36.

    What I've found so far:

Year Model Intake $ Exhaust $
    2002-2004 Xterra VG33ER 13201-0B000 $ 4.14 13202-7B000 $ 4.79
    2000-2004 Xterra VG33E 13201-0B000 $ 4.14 13202-7B000 $ 4.79
    1996-2000 Pathfinder VG33E 13201-V5202 $ 7.18 13202-V5210 unknown
    1984-1989 300ZX VG30ET 13201-V5202 $ 7.18 13202-V6510 $ 15.38
    1984-1989 300ZX VG30E 13201-V5202 $ 7.18 13202-V6510 $ 15.38
    Ferrea F1843P $ 23.68 F1844P $ 24.86

Mr. 510 posted that there are special valves for supercharged VG33ERs on nissanpathfinders.net:

Next I put the valves in the heads. The VG33ER valves are ceramic coated from the factory which is pretty darned cool. They also don't have the Nissan logo on their faces like virtually all Nissan valves clear back to the '60s. Smooth valve faces is a good thing as there are no 'hot spots' to cause detonation.
    He even posted a picture:

But I get the same P/N for VG33ER and VG33E valves Xterras/Frontiers at courtesyparts.com and my local dealership. Questions I'm trying to answer:

    - Are there special coated VG33ER valves? If so, what's the part number?
    - Is there any meaningful difference between the older, more expensive VG30 valves and the newer, cheaper VG33 valves?

As I recall the z31 exhaust valves are sodium filled for better heat dissipation which is the first part, looks like the vg33r may have a different size or profile altogether

I'm not aware of any sodium valves in any VG30, easy enough to cut one up to check. The VG33ER heads are definitely identical OWO castings.

Uh… yeah, i wouldn't do that. Popping a sodium filled valves can be very hazardous, and i highly doubt Nissan would put them in as OE.

besides that, FSM section EM list valve dimensions/angles and seat dimensions/angles similar between Z31 VG30E(T) and VG33E(R)

    Ordered 4 valves to compare: 13201-0B000 VG33E(R) intake, 13201-V5202 VG30E(T) intake, 13202-7B000 VG33E(R) exhaust, 13202-V6510 VG30E(T) exhaust. I'll post pics when they come in.

I meant the pics of the actual valve differences that Doug was supposed to supply that shows the actual differences between all the part numbers.
