Front Tokico Blue Strut Body Longer Than Stock?

Pep Boys is swapping my stock cartridge and springs to Tokico Blues and lowering springs. I would do it on my own but I was low on time.

Friend who works there calls me saying that the Tokico strut is longer than stock so the original gland nut cannot catch any threads in the strut tube.

I have searched far and wide and have never heard of this problem.

Note, the Tokicos were bought used and did not come with the "spacers" and replacement gland nut that many Tokico blue users said were included in a new kit.

The bottom of the strut might have a spacer section that needs to get cut off to fit, and tokico should have gland nuts that fit at their new north american distributor…

I could really use some guys that installed Tokico blues to educate me on whats going on…I probably searched everywhere and not one thread/write-up mentioned the need to cut anything…

I have never heard of any problems with Tokico Blues swapping into NA strut tubes. Are you sure you have the correct struts?

I bought these struts off of Justin Eastman on this forum. He ran them on his 88NA…

I did the install.... tokico blues into 86NA strut tubes and had no issues. I actually used a few of the washers that the tokico kit came with that sits between the tokico shock and the gland nut.
