    Unplugged connector question

    Hello all,

I was doing drive belt changes and noticed this connector is unplugged. It’s the plug by the round cylindrical look part under the metal radiator pipe. Any idea what it’s for? Got the car like this. Thank you.

That round thing below the water pipe is a fuel injector cooling fan that was designed to blow fresh air through a vent (located on the passenger valve cover) to reduce the chances of heat soak on the fuel injectors.

That is likely the plug that supplies power to that injector cooling fan.

    I referenced the 1986 FSM here: https://xenonzcar.com/z31/FSM/1986fsm.php EF & EC 101

Someone probably got annoyed with it turning on

I have an 85T and I had that injector fan and took in out. I thought it was no longer used in 87+ Z31's, same with the 84T, 85T hood scoop.
Either way, it is not necessary at all and the least of your worries. If you can, plug it in and see if it still works.
Restore it, Don't crush it. They don't make them like this anymore.
